Chris Pitchford, a Seattle tech veteran and former co-founder of Shyft and vice president of sales at Ally, has launched Brev, a new startup utilizing large language models for business performance management.

Brev’s software serves as a “business performance OS,” processing internal data from multiple sources and generating customized progress reports based on critical metrics. It aims to streamline communication and meeting preparation by providing actionable insights from unstructured data.

Leveraging Pitchford’s expertise from Ally, Brev integrates seamlessly with organizational goals and strategies. According to Pitchford, their “LLM-native approach” sets them apart from competitors in the business performance management arena.

Brev co-founder Vic Hu, formerly an engineering manager at Indeed and with experience at Meta and Panopty, brings his technical expertise to the venture. Benn Graham serves as Brev’s founding engineer. Pitchford’s relocation to San Francisco facilitates proximity to customers, while Hu remains based in Seattle.

To date, Brev’s operations have been bootstrapped without external funding. Vetri Vellore, the founder of Ally, has launched a similar AI-powered productivity startup called Rhythms in the Seattle area.
