Seattle-based women’s health technology company Joylux has secured $4.5 million in fresh funding, bringing its total investment to $22 million since its founding a decade ago. The company, which
specializes in electronic devices and wellness products for women’s intimate health, will use the new capital to support its latest venture – a partnership with Academy Award-winning actress Halle Berry.
Berry, who has joined Joylux as an investor, discovered the company’s products following her own challenging experience with intimate health issues and an incorrect medical diagnosis. Through her wellness brand Respin, which focuses on women’s midlife and menopausal health, Berry is collaborating with Joylux to launch a new intimacy gel product called Let’s Spin.
The partnership marks a significant expansion for Joylux, which has established itself as a prominent player in the women’s health market. The company’s product line encompasses light therapy devices, gels, creams, cooling pads, and various wellness solutions designed for vaginal health, skin care, breast health, and hair care.
Under the leadership of CEO Colette Courtion, Joylux has achieved remarkable growth in its direct-to-consumer business, reporting a 162% increase year-over-year. The company’s products have gained widespread distribution through major retail partners, including Nordstrom, Bloomingdales, Goop, Neiman Marcus, and Ulta.
The company’s expansion plans extend beyond domestic markets, with international growth supported by its partnership with Essity, a global corporation specializing in women’s health and hygiene products. This collaboration positions Joylux for significant market expansion beyond its current reach.
With a team of 15 employees, Joylux continues to attract notable investors in the healthcare and beauty sectors. Among its backers is Dr. Kathy Fields, the renowned dermatologist who co-created successful skincare brands Proactiv and Rodan + Fields. This latest funding round strengthens the company’s position in the growing women’s health technology market.
The investment comes at a time when women’s health technology, particularly solutions addressing intimate and menopausal health, is gaining increased attention and acceptance in the mainstream market. Joylux’s success in securing retail partnerships with luxury and mainstream retailers demonstrates the growing demand for innovative women’s health solutions.
The company’s development of electronic devices and complementary products addresses a significant gap in the women’s healthcare market, particularly for those experiencing age-related intimate health concerns. By combining technology with traditional wellness products, Joylux has created a comprehensive approach to women’s intimate health care.
The partnership with Berry and her Respin brand represents a strategic move to increase awareness and accessibility of women’s health solutions, particularly for those in their midlife years. Berry’s personal experience and advocacy for women’s health adds credibility and visibility to Joylux’s mission of improving women’s intimate wellness through innovative technology and products.
With the new funding and high-profile partnership in place, Joylux is positioned to expand its product line, reach new markets, and continue its mission of addressing women’s health concerns through
technology-driven solutions. The company’s growth trajectory and strong retail presence suggest a promising future in the expanding women’s health technology sector.
