Salt Lake City-based flexible workspace provider Kiln has announced plans to establish its inaugural Washington state location in Seattle’s tech-centric Fremont neighborhood. The company has secured a lease for 32,276 square feet at the Fremont Lake Union Center on North 34th Street, with doors set to open in fall 2026.
The new location will accommodate over 350 members and offer a range of workspace options, from individual dedicated desks to private offices and conference rooms. The facility aims to serve independent professionals, teams, and growing startups in an area already home to major tech companies including Google, Tableau, and Adobe.
Following the pattern of its existing locations, the Seattle space will feature comprehensive amenities such as bike storage facilities, parenting rooms, phone booths, fully equipped kitchens, mail handling services, gym access, and shower facilities. Kiln will begin accepting membership reservations in the near future.
This Seattle expansion marks another milestone in Kiln’s growth trajectory, bringing its total location count to 25 by the time the new space opens. The company’s nearest current facilities are in Oregon, with locations in Portland and Bend.
The arrival of Kiln adds to Seattle’s competitive co-working landscape, where it will join established providers like
Portland-based Centrl Office, which recently took over a former WeWork space on Capitol Hill, and The Pioneer Collective, which is developing a new location in a converted fish cannery along the Lake Washington Ship Canal.
According to data from CoworkingCafe, Seattle currently ranks as the 12th largest U.S. market for co-working space, with 153 locations throughout the city. The industry analysis suggests that the co-working sector is evolving toward more strategic and optimized operations following two years of expansion.
The new facility’s location in Fremont, traditionally a hub for technology companies, positions Kiln to serve the area’s growing professional community with its flexible workspace solutions and comprehensive amenities package. This expansion represents Kiln’s strategic move into the Pacific Northwest market, adding to its existing presence across multiple western states.
