Leading the Charge: Seattle’s Latest Executive Appointments and Industry Shifts

Seattle-based Alaska Airlines has appointed Lindsay-Rae McIntyre as its new chief people officer. McIntyre transitions to the airline after spending eight years at Microsoft, where her most recent position was corporate vice president of Talent and Learning and chief diversity officer.

In a LinkedIn message addressing both her former and current employers, McIntyre reflected on her tenure at the tech giant. “I am honored to have been part of this transformation for the past eight years,” she wrote, asking colleagues to “take good care of one another, and of our customers.”

Speaking to her new teams at Alaska and Hawaiian Airlines, McIntyre revealed personal connections to the aviation sector. Her grandfather and uncle flew for Air Canada, while her aunt worked as a flight attendant. “I grew up in awe of airplanes and of the extraordinary people who make air travel possible,” she shared.

Before her Microsoft tenure, McIntyre held senior leadership positions at IBM for over 18 years.

In other personnel changes, Armon Dadgar, co-founder and chief technology officer of HashiCorp, is departing the infrastructure software firm. Dadgar and co-founder Mitchell Hashimoto established HashiCorp in 2012 following their graduation from the University of Washington. Last year, IBM completed a $6.4 billion acquisition of the San Francisco-based company.

“For me, HashiCorp was always more than a job, and I’ve always felt a deep sense of responsibility for the people, products, customers, and community,” Dadgar wrote on LinkedIn. “The role I’ve played has always been rewarding, but equally it has been demanding.”

With his final day at HashiCorp on Friday, the Seattle-based Dadgar plans to relocate to New York City and spend time recharging.

decision-making is what drew me here.”
