Seattle’s iconic Pike Place Market emerged as the most popular destination for Lime riders across North America, according to data released by the company on Monday. The market area proved to be the leading end point for trips taken by both local residents and visitors using the electric scooter and bike-share service.
Lime’s “2025 Ride Replay” report revealed impressive growth numbers for Seattle, with riders completing 9.7 million trips throughout the year. This represents a substantial 61% increase compared to the previous year’s figures.
The report highlighted several notable milestones from the year. August stood out as the busiest month for Lime usage in the city, recording over 1.3 million rides. The peak single day occurred on September 27, when nearly 60,000 trips were completed. Additionally, Seattle made history in May by becoming the first city globally to introduce the new LimeGlider vehicle, which has since accumulated more than 1.8 million trips.
The Seattle Department of Transportation has responded to the growing popularity of these micromobility options by announcing plans to install over 200 additional bike and scooter “corrals” this fall. These designated parking areas are being added downtown and throughout other neighborhoods to promote proper parking practices and reduce sidewalk congestion.
Lime operates alongside Bird as part of Seattle’s official e-bike and scooter-share micromobility program, which enables residents and visitors to rent these vehicles for brief journeys around the city. The program has become an increasingly important transportation option for short-distance travel.
For users who opted into Lime’s email communications, the company provided personalized year-end recaps through its Ride Replay feature. This year’s edition adopted a celestial theme, assigning riders unique “ride-dentities” based on their usage patterns throughout 2025. Those who traveled in multiple cities might receive an “Expert Explorer” designation, while frequent users in a single location could earn the “Local Legend” title.
Lime, headquartered in San Francisco, operates as a privately held company. In 2020, the company expanded its operations by acquiring the Jump bike-share business and secured $170 million in financing. The investment round was led by several major technology and venture capital firms, including Uber, Alphabet, Bain Capital, and GV.
The significant growth in ridership demonstrates the increasing adoption of micromobility solutions in Seattle. The 61% year-over-year increase suggests that both residents and tourists are embracing these electric vehicles as a convenient and efficient way to navigate the city. The popularity of Pike Place Market as a destination reflects its continued status as a major draw for people exploring Seattle.
The introduction of the LimeGlider represents an innovation in the micromobility space, offering riders a new type of vehicle option. Its rapid accumulation of 1.8 million trips since its May launch indicates strong user acceptance of this new transportation alternative.
The city’s investment in additional parking infrastructure
demonstrates recognition of the program’s success and addresses challenges associated with the growing fleet. By adding more than 200 corrals, Seattle aims to balance the benefits of expanded
micromobility access with the need to maintain clear, accessible sidewalks for pedestrians.
