Anduril Expands Footprint in Seattle Area with Strategic Bellevue Office Launch

Defense technology company Anduril is strengthening its presence in the Seattle metropolitan area with a new office location in Bellevue, Washington. The expansion comes through a sublease agreement with Meta for 39,851 square feet of space in the Skyline Tower building, according to recent reporting from Broderick Group.

The California-headquartered company, which already maintains operations in Seattle established in 2020, confirmed plans to occupy one floor of the Bellevue property while keeping its existing Seattle office. This expansion effectively doubles Anduril’s footprint in the region, where it currently employs approximately 375 people.

The move follows Anduril’s recent $2.5 billion funding round, which will support the company’s ongoing development of artificial intelligence-powered military technology solutions. The defense tech firm has also recently collaborated with Meta on a virtual and augmented reality initiative for the United States Army.

Anduril joins a growing roster of technology companies that have chosen to establish satellite offices in the Seattle area, drawn by the region’s deep pool of technical talent. The company is now among more than 100 organizations that maintain satellite operations in the greater Seattle metropolitan area.

The expansion aligns with a broader trend of technology companies setting up shop in Bellevue. Other notable firms that have recently established presence in the city include artificial intelligence leader OpenAI, e-commerce platform Shopify, data cloud company Snowflake, and video communications provider Zoom.

Current market analysis from Broderick indicates that Bellevue’s Central Business District maintains a commercial office vacancy rate of 17 percent. This figure represents no change from the previous year but marks a significant increase from the 3.3 percent vacancy rate recorded in 2019.

The expansion by Anduril reflects the continuing appeal of Bellevue and the broader Seattle region as a hub for technology companies, despite shifts in commercial real estate dynamics over recent years. The sublease arrangement with Meta also highlights the ongoing adjustments in office space utilization among major tech companies in the area.

This development represents a significant investment in the Seattle region by Anduril, which has gained prominence in the defense technology sector through its focus on AI-driven military
applications. The company’s decision to maintain dual locations in both Seattle and Bellevue demonstrates a strong commitment to establishing a robust presence in the Pacific Northwest technology corridor.

The company’s growth in the region comes at a time when the
intersection of artificial intelligence and defense technology is receiving increased attention and investment. Anduril’s expansion in Bellevue positions the company to better tap into the area’s technology ecosystem and workforce, while contributing to the region’s growing reputation as a hub for advanced technology development.

By maintaining operations in both Seattle and Bellevue, Anduril is strategically positioned to access talent pools on both sides of Lake Washington, taking advantage of the region’s established technology infrastructure and professional networks. The company’s increased presence adds to the growing cluster of defense and technology firms that have chosen the Seattle area as a key location for their operations.
