Smartsheet, at its ENGAGE conference, unveiled a suite of innovative features and a significant redesign, the company’s first in a decade.

The new “collections” feature integrates Smartsheet content and third-party assets, enabling collaboration and sharing across organizations. Additionally, a built-in file library and enhanced visual experiences streamline workflows.

A key integration with Amazon Q Business empowers Smartsheet users to access information from their projects through Amazon’s generative AI assistant. This seamless data synchronization allows users to leverage business data for quick inquiries and content generation.

“This partnership aligns with our goal of integrating Smartsheet with industry-leading AI tools,” stated Ben Canning, Smartsheet’s SVP of Product Experiences.

Amazon Q, introduced at the 2022 AWS re:Invent conference, is part of the ongoing race among tech giants to develop AI solutions for businesses and developers.

Smartsheet boasts an impressive user base of nearly 13.5 million and serves 85% of Fortune 500 companies. Following a $8.4 billion buyout agreement with Blackstone and Vista Equity Partners in October, the company will transition back to private ownership, six years after its initial public offering.

In its recent quarter, Smartsheet reported a 17% revenue increase, reaching $276.4 million. While the company experienced an operating loss of $8.5 million, this represents a significant improvement from the $36.1 million loss in the same quarter last year.
