Seattle-based women’s health technology company Joylux has
successfully secured $4.5 million in its latest funding round, bringing its total capital raised to $22 million since its founding a decade ago. The company, which specializes in electronic devices for women’s vaginal health, plans to utilize the new investment to support its recent collaboration with acclaimed actress and entrepreneur Halle Berry.
Berry, who has joined Joylux as both an investor and partner, discovered the company’s products following her own challenging experience with intimate health issues and an incorrect medical diagnosis. Through her wellness brand Respin, which focuses on supporting women through menopause, Berry is now helping to launch a new intimate gel product called Let’s Spin.
The company’s CEO, Colette Courtion, reported impressive growth in their direct-to-consumer business segment, which saw a 162% increase year-over-year. Joylux has established a strong retail presence, with its products available through major retailers including Nordstrom, Bloomingdales, Goop, Neiman Marcus, and Ulta.
The company’s product line encompasses a comprehensive range of women’s health solutions, including light therapy devices for vaginal care, as well as various gels, creams, cooling pads, and treatments for skin, breasts, hair, and nails. With 15 employees, Joylux is positioned for further expansion through its partnership with Essity, a global corporation specializing in women’s health and hygiene products.
Among the company’s notable investors is Dr. Kathy Fields, a renowned dermatologist known for co-creating successful skincare brands Proactiv and Rodan + Fields. The latest funding round strengthens Joylux’s position in the growing women’s health technology market, particularly in addressing intimate health concerns that have traditionally been underserved.
The investment represents a significant milestone for the company as it continues to develop and market innovative solutions for women’s health issues. By combining technology with intimate care products, Joylux has created a unique niche in the healthcare market, addressing common but often overlooked aspects of women’s health, particularly during and after menopause.
The partnership with Berry’s Respin brand demonstrates Joylux’s commitment to expanding its reach and visibility while maintaining its focus on women’s midlife wellness. The collaboration is expected to bring increased attention to the importance of vaginal health and the availability of modern solutions for common intimate health concerns.
Through its retail partnerships and direct-to-consumer channels, Joylux has established multiple pathways for reaching customers seeking solutions for intimate health issues. The company’s growth trajectory suggests increasing market acceptance of technology-based solutions for women’s health concerns, particularly in areas that have historically faced stigma or lack of attention in the healthcare market.
The new funding is expected to accelerate Joylux’s product development and market expansion efforts, while also supporting the launch of new initiatives through the Halle Berry partnership. This investment comes at a time when the women’s health technology sector is experiencing significant growth, with increasing recognition of the need for innovative solutions in feminine care and intimate wellness.
As Joylux continues to expand its presence in both retail and direct-to-consumer channels, the company remains focused on its mission to provide effective, technology-driven solutions for women’s intimate health concerns. The combination of celebrity partnership, retail expansion, and continued product innovation positions Joylux for continued growth in the women’s health technology market.
