Several technology industry veterans have taken on new chief executive roles at emerging companies. Jay Choi has been appointed as the new CEO of Typeform, a San Francisco-based company specializing in digital form creation. Choi transitions to this position from his previous role as chief product officer at Glia, following an extensive tenure at Qualtrics where he served as CPO and general manager for nearly seven years.
During his time at Qualtrics, which maintains dual headquarters in Seattle and Provo, Utah, Choi played a crucial role in the company’s expansion, contributing to its successful $1.55 billion IPO in 2021 and subsequent acquisition in 2023. His professional background also includes positions at Danaher, 3M, and Deloitte. Choi, who joined Typeform’s board of directors in February, succeeds former CEO Joaquim Lechà.
In another significant move, Charley Daitch has assumed the position of CEO at Rowan Digital Infrastructure, a Denver-based company that develops sustainable hyperscale data centers for major technology companies. Daitch, who is based in Seattle, initially joined Rowan as chief commercial officer in October 2023. His appointment follows nearly eight years at Amazon Web Services, where he directed energy and water operations, managing renewable energy initiatives, power infrastructure, utility contracts, and water systems.
The climate technology sector has also seen notable leadership changes, with Allison Arnold joining the board of directors at VertueLab, a Portland-based nonprofit supporting climate tech innovation. Arnold currently serves as director of pipeline and portfolio for E8, a Seattle-area angel investor organization focused on climate tech startups, and previously worked as an impact investing manager at VertueLab.
In the biotech sector, Vancouver-based NanoVation has strengthened its board with the addition of David Main and Zachariah Jonasson. Main serves as president and CEO of Notch Therapeutics, while Jonasson holds the position of chief financial and business officer at Absci and is a co-founder of Convergent Ventures. The appointments coincide with NanoVation’s recent undisclosed funding round led by Convergent Ventures. The company, which develops medical therapies using lipid nanoparticles for nucleic acid delivery, has also announced a partnership with Novo Nordisk for developing treatments targeting cardiometabolic and rare diseases.
Additionally, BusPatrol, a provider of school bus safety technology, has appointed Seattle-area engineer Manoj Shende as chief
technologist. Shende’s extensive background includes leadership roles at Aptiv, where he served as vice president of advance technology, cloud engineering and product management. His career history also features nearly a decade at ServiceNow and more than 12 years at Microsoft, where he concluded his tenure as principal PM manager for Office products.
These leadership appointments reflect ongoing dynamics in the technology sector, with experienced executives taking on new challenges across various industries, from digital services and sustainable infrastructure to biotechnology and transportation safety. The movements demonstrate the continued evolution and growth of technology-focused companies, particularly in the Pacific Northwest region.
