Blue Origin’s Historic NS-32 Mission: A Diverse Roster of Adventurers Set for the Edge of Space

Blue Origin is preparing for its 32nd New Shepard launch and 12th crewed mission, scheduled for Saturday at 8:30 a.m. CT from their West Texas facility. The upcoming flight will carry six international adventurers on a brief journey to the edge of space, continuing the company’s successful commercial spaceflight program.
The mission, designated NS-32, will follow the standard flight profile that has become familiar to Blue Origin’s operations. The New Shepard vehicle will propel its crew capsule beyond the Kármán line – the internationally recognized space boundary at 100 kilometers above Earth. During the approximately 10-minute journey, passengers will experience weightlessness and witness the curvature of Earth against the backdrop of space before returning via parachute-assisted landing.
The diverse crew includes several notable individuals from various professional backgrounds. Among them is Jaime Alemán, a Panamanian former ambassador and business executive, who will make history by becoming the first person to visit all 193 UN member states, both poles, and space. The manifest also features radiologist Gretchen Green, who brings her Space Camp background and current role on the U.S. Space & Rocket Center Education Foundation Board.
Ohio-based real estate developer Paul Jeris, who has already explored 149 countries, will join the flight alongside STEM educator Aymette Medina Jorge from Odyssey Academy in Galveston. Jorge’s seat is being sponsored by Farmacias Similares, highlighting the mission’s connection to educational and social impact initiatives.
The crew is rounded out by Mark Rocket, a New Zealand aerospace entrepreneur who previously invested in Rocket Lab, and Canadian adventurer Jesse Williams, who has conquered six of the world’s seven highest peaks.
This launch follows Blue Origin’s April mission, which attracted significant attention for its all-female crew including celebrity passengers Katy Perry, Gayle King, and Jeff Bezos’s fiancée Lauren Sanchez. Since beginning crewed flights in 2021, Blue Origin has now transported 58 individuals to space, including company founder Jeff Bezos and “Star Trek” icon William Shatner.
The mission continues Blue Origin’s commitment to commercial space travel, with the company planning to broadcast the launch on their website beginning 30 minutes before liftoff. The flight will utilize Blue Origin’s proven New Shepard system, featuring a reusable booster that autonomously returns to a designated landing pad while the crew capsule completes its journey.
As with all space missions, the launch remains subject to weather conditions and technical readiness. The operation represents another step in Blue Origin’s ongoing efforts to normalize commercial space travel and provide unique experiences for diverse groups of
passengers.
The flight profile demonstrates the maturity of Blue Origin’s suborbital space tourism program, which has successfully established itself as a regular operation in the growing commercial space sector. The mission showcases the company’s ability to attract international participants while maintaining its focus on both the adventure tourism and educational aspects of space travel.
This latest crew composition reflects Blue Origin’s continued emphasis on bringing together individuals from various backgrounds and professions, contributing to the democratization of space access. The presence of educators, entrepreneurs, and accomplished professionals on this flight underscores the broadening appeal of commercial spaceflight beyond traditional astronaut demographics.
